ISES 초청 Perp School Partner Familiarization Tour를 마치고

미국의 ISES (International Student Education Services)의 초청으로 10월2일부터 14일까지 미국 출장을 다녀왔습니다. 한국인으로는 유일하게 제가 초청을 받았고 러시아, 우크라이나, 스페인, 독일, 중국, 타이완, 베트남, 인도네시아, 일본 등 여러나라의 교육컨설턴트 18명이 참가했습니다.

 

뉴욕 주의 Stony Brook School, Masters School, 펜실베니아 주의 Solebury School, Perkiomen School, Linden Hall, Phelps School, Valley Forge Military Academy, 코네티컷 주의 South Kent School, 메사추세츠 주의 Newman School, Lawrence Academy, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall 등의 학교 방문과 패널 토의 등이 공식 일정이었습니다.

 

ISES의 Fam Tour를 마치고 제 개인적으로 친분이 있는 Middlesex School, Concord Academy, Milton Academy, Fay School, St. Mark’s School, Hillside School 등에 들러 Admission Director 를 비롯 Staff 들과 내년 Admission에 관한 토의를 하고 Chestnut Hill에 위치한 Pine Manor College와 뉴욕의 소호에 있는 New York Film Academy의 설립자이자 Director인 Jerry Sherlock씨를 만나 한국인 학생의 Recruitment에 관한 의견을 나누었습니다.

Dear Diane,

 

I just arrived yesterday morning after two-week trip to USA. and still feel jetlag. After ISES Fam Tour, I visited Middlesex School, Concord Academy, Fay School, St. Mark’s School, Pine Manor College and New York Film Academy which we are partnership with. On the way to New York, I dropped by Woodbury Common Outlet Malls and enjoyed Columbus Day shopping spree. When I returned the rental-car at JFK, I was suprised to see the milege was around 2000. What a long trip!

 

Now that I am back home, I would like first of all to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for the magnificent hospitality and the courtesies offered to me during my stay in New York, Philadelphia and Boston. Thanks to your kind invitation and the most considerate care, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the every minute of the 1 week schedule, for which I am greatly indebted to you.

 

The way Kent, Janet and the driver were most courteous and attentive, and the Cambodian Dinner at Elephant Walk was really enjoyable. The efficient manner in which our tour of the facilities was arranged is very much appreciated. The tour was extremely enlightening as well as interesting. My first hand knowledge of boarding schools will greatly enhance the chances of Korean students’ applying for the schools. I am sure the face-to-face meeting with the admission staffs was instrumental in creating sense of closeness between me and the schools..

 

Please give my best regards to Kent. I am sorry that I can not send him an e-mail because I did not receive his e-mail address. Could you please give me his e-mail address?

 

Once again, let me thank you for your kind arrangements which have enabled me to have a most exciting and fruitful trip. Meanwhile, I do hope we will have another opportunity of getting together in Seoul or in the USA soon. I look forward to the pleasure of enhancing our business relationship in the near future.
