①      Joint Institute provides Dual Degree Program, in which a student will study mechanical engineering, material engineering, and computer engineering for two years in SJTU, and another two years in University of Michigan studying engineering subjects of their own choosing from 15 different subjects.

②      Students who complete JI undergraduate studies will receive the opportunity to study at University of Michigan for graduate program in engineering within one year.

③      According to the world ranking of universities from Times in 2014, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) was ranked in 15^th place overall. In 2015 US News & World Report, University of Michigan was placed in 28^th overall US universities, 7^th in engineering schools, 2^nd in industrial engineering, 5^th in mechanical engineering, and 7^th in computer engineering.
