세쿼이아 그룹은 최근 로리엇 교육재단 (Laureate Design Universities)과 Agent Agreement를 체결하여 로리엇 디자인 교육재단의 한국 Agent가 되었습니다.

“Expanding access to quality higher education to make the world a better place”라는 모토를 표방하고 있는 로리엇 재단은 미국 대통령이었던 Bill Clinton을 명예총장으로 추대하고 있습니다. 로리엇 교육 재단 (www.laureate.net)은 미국 Baltimore에 본부를 두고 북미, 중남미, 유럽, 북아프리카, 아시아, 중동 등 전 세계 25개국에 70여 개 캠퍼스를 두고 있으며, 약 80만 명의 학생들이 수학해 온 세계 최대 사립 교육 재단입니다. 로리엇 교육재단에는 Laureate Design Universities, Health Science, Education과 Gilon Institute of Higher Education, Les Roche International School of Hotel management, Kendall College를 운영하고 있는 Hospitality Management 분야로 이루어져 있습니다.

 

세쿼이아에서는 로리엇 디자인 교육재단에 속해 있는 이탈리아 밀라노에 위치한 Domus Academy와 NABA, 미국의 뉴멕시코 산타페에 위치한 Santa Fe University of Art & Design, 캘리포니아 샌디에고의 New School of Architecture & Design 그리고 뉴질랜드의 오클랜드에 둥지를 틀고 있는 Media Design School을 대표하는 한국의 Agent 역할을 담당하고 있습니다.

 

로리엇 디자인 교육재단은 다양한 디자인 포르폴리오를 보유하는데, 패션, 액세서리, 제품 디자인, 인테리어, 자동차, 게임, 3D, 에니메이션, 그래픽, 영화, 실용음악, 사진, 뮤지컬, 무용 모든 장르의 예술 분야를 섭렵하고 있어 학생들은 각자의 Needs에 맞게 학교를 선택할 수 있는 기회가 제공됩니다.

로리엇디자인교육재단 산하 각 대학에 관한 간단한 설명을 곁들여 보겠습니다.

 

Domus Academy

 

이탈리아 밀라노에 위차하며, 우리나라에도 널리 알려진 패션, 산업 디자인 명문 대학입니다. 졸업생들은 이탈리아의 Vogue, Gucci, Versace 등 다양한 디자인 영역에서 취업하여 활발한 활동을 구가하고 있는데 현장에 정통한 최고 수준의 교수진을 자랑하고 있습니다.

 

Two Laurent Design Universities are in Milano, Italy: Domus Academy and Nuova Academia diBelle ARti Milano (NABA). Domus Academy was the first graduate design school in Italy. Today it offers graduate-level courses in fashion design and management, interior design, architectural design, product and car design, and business design. Domus Academy also is a center of research in industrial creativity and aesthetic and consumer trends. In 2009, Business Week magazine ranked Domus Academy as one of top design schools in the world.

NABA (Nuova Accademia Di Belle Arti)

 

Domus Academy와 같이 이탈리아 밀라노에 위치하며, 이탈리아 정부에 의해 최초 인가된 교육기관으로서 패션, 텍스타일, 그래픽, 인테리어 디자인, 사진, 조경, 멀티미디어 아트 등 다양한 분야의 교육 프로그램을 제공합니다.

 

NABA, founded in 1980, offers a deiverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs in such fields as fashion and textile design, photography and multimedia communications. NABA was the first private fine arts academy in Italy officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Technology and Research, and NABA degrees are Bologna-compliant, which means they are accepted internationally.

 

Santa Fe University of Art & Design

 

미국의 뉴멕시코 주의 Santa Fe에는 수 천 명의 작가들이 활동하고 있는데 250여 개의 갤러리와 12개의 세계적으로 명성이 있는 박물관이 있고 미국의 3대 미술 시장이라 할 수 있는 최대 예술 도시 중의 하나입니다. 예술적인 영감을 가진 도시에서 조용하고 여유로운 환경에서 최적의 예술 교육의 기회를 제공합니다.

 

Santa Fe University of Art and Desing, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for example, offers undergraduate degrees in a wide range of creative programs, including fine arts, graphic design, theater, photography, creative writing, contemporary music, digital arts and film. The city of Sante Fe is a well-known art destination, with more than 250 galleries, 12 world-class museums and an acclaimed opera company. The city if ranked as the third-largest art market in the United States and is home to many musicians, filmmakers and writers.

   

New School of Architecture & Design

 

지상 낙원이라 불리우는 캘리포니아 주의 샌디에고에 위치하며 미국 최고 건축교육 기관 중 하나로 손꼽힙니다. 기후과 환경이 좋은 곳에서 수준 높은 건축 교육을 타 건축대학에 비하여 비교적 저렴한 학비로 공부할 수 있는 장점을 지닙니다.

 

New School of Architecture and Design, in San Diego, California, is a leader in architecture education. Univerdisade Anhembi Morumbi, in Sao Paolo, Brazil, offers programs in fashion design, animation design and interior design as well as architecture. With 37 campuses throughout Mexico, Universidad del Valle de Mexico offers degrees in architecture and design, including graphic and industrial design.

 

       Media Design School

 

뉴질랜드 오클랜드에 있는 MDS는 최첨단 디지털 미디어 디자인 교육의 명문 대학으로 그 입지를 굳혀가고 있습니다. 호빗, 반지의 제왕, 킹콩, 아바타와 같은 블록버스터 영화 프로젝트에 재학생들이 참여했을 만큼 비교 불가의 업계 네크워크와 대형 프로젝트 기회를 통해 진정한 프로페셔널을 양성하는 우수한 디자인 대학입니다.

세쿼이아 그룹에서는 로리엇 디자인 교육재단을 한국 학생들과 학부모들에게 좀 더 가까이 다가갈 수 있도록 로리엇 디자인재단의 한국 대표 사무소의 자격으로 2014년 9월13일과 14일 이틀 간 COEX에서 열리는, AIEF (American International Education Foundation) 주관 교육 및 유학 박람회에 참가합니다. 미국관 지정 부스를 설치하여 Santa Fe University of Arts & Design과 New School of Architecture & Design에 관심을 가지고 있는 학생들에게 카운셀링을 제공합니다. 특히 New School of Architecture& Design에서 Media Digital Arts 프로그램의 교수진과 국제학생입학처장이 내한하여 함께 상담 작업을 진행할 것 예정입니다. 미술대학에 관심 있는 학생들의 많은 참여를 당부 드립니다.
